The Lairig Ghru
The Lairig Ghru is a deep Glen that connects the southern, Braemar, side of the Cairngorms with the northern, Aviemore, side. It cuts deeply through the mountains with the UK's 2nd, 3rd and 4th highest peaks all together in this one area. In descending order, to the right, covered in snow, is Ben MacDui, at 1309 meters (4295 feet). Then, opposite and in the distance is Braeriach, standing at 1296 meters (4251 feet), while immediately to my left is Cairn Toul, standing at 1291 meters (4235 feet), the UK's 4th highest. The Corrour Bothy is getting closer and it is there I can finally rest.
