Nightwing - Heir to the Demon #1
Glimmers of the sun were seen in the distance as Nightwing and Barbara jumped onto the roof of their apartment complex.
"Why do these costumed criminals always come out in the middle of the night..."
"That's what I've been wondering ever since I started. I mean, don't they ever sleep?"
Dick smiled at that reply. Then something caught Dick's eye. Something glimmering in the corner of his eye...
Quickly Dick ducked down, as a shuriken pasted over his head. He quickly spun around as a katana came down on him. Using his Eskirma sticks, he managed to blocked the attack, just as two hooded people ran towards him, one holding a bow in his hand, the other another katana. Just as they lunged for him, Barbara intervened. She extended her Bo staff and swung it at the nearest attacker. He attempted to block it using his bow, but the staff was too fast for him, and he was thrown back. She quickly high kicked the attacker whose sword was starting to cut Nightwing's Eskirma sticks. Dick quickly rolled away, before jumping back up to his feet as an arrow flew past his face.
"Please don't tell me these are who I think they are..." Barbara said, as she grabbed her bo staff and took a fighting stance beside Dick.
"Afraid so. Leaguers...I hate these guys."
The three members of the League of Assassins took a fighting stance oposite them. Dick and Barbara looked at one another. They both nodded as the Leaguers lunged towards them. quickly they side-stepped each of their attackers, as the third sent Arrows flying in their direction.
"We need to take out that archer!" Dick told Barbara.
"Just incase you havn't noticed... I'm a bit busy at the moment!" Barbara screamed at him, as she blocked five attacks from the Leaguer she was fighting.
Dick wondered what the best way to deal with the archer was, as the second attacker attempted a decapitation move. Dick quickly ducked down, as the katana flew over his head, taking a few hairs in the process. Dick quickly connected his two escrima sticks together, forming a Bo staff.
"THAT wasn't nice..." but just as he took a run up towards his attacker an arrow flew past him, brushing past his arm, leaving a small wound. He let out a small gasp, before reaching for one of his wing-dings, and throwing it at the Archer. It wedged itself into the Archer's shoulder, making him drop his bow. But he didn't have much time to gloat, as the other Assassin's sword came down on him.
Blocking it once again, Dick send a quick kick to the Assassins stomach. It connected perfectly, making him stumble over. Before he had a chance to get back up again, Dick delivered a Knockout blow. Meanwhile, Barbara was dealing with her opponent, blocking attack after attack. Dick went for one of his Wing Dings, only to see he had thrown his last one at the Archer. "Batgirl watch out!" Dick screamed, just as the assassin pulled out a knife and threw it at Barbara.
