Lion Temple (Apedemak Temple), Naga, Sudan, North-east Africa

The temple had just one room, decorated with reliefs linking Apedemak to Zeus, the Greek god, or to Serapis, the Alexandrian deity. This single room (or cella) is characteristic of the indigenous temples.
