Burial chamber, El-Kurru, Sudan, North-east Africa

The burial chambers were dug deeply in the sandstone substratum and accessed by stairways. Kushite pyramids are solid monuments, lacking any internal chambers. They were erected over the burial chambers. The remains of the pyramid associated with this burial chamber are barely visible.
