Statue of King Taharqo, builder of Kawa, found at Napata. A lot of elements were deliberately broken by conquering Egyptian troops, such as the nose, which receives the breath of life, and one of the two cobras on the crown (the one representing Egypt). This 3-metre statue was made from granite from the cataracts, with the sandals, bracelets, loincloth, crown and pupils covered with gold leaf.
