The statues adorning Meroitic temples dedicated to Amun imitated those of the Egyptians, with rams near the entrance. The two Meroitic rams at the entrance to the museum come from the Temple of Kawa, near Old Dongola. It was completely covered with sand, preserving the condition of the statues.
