Fawad Tamkanat, Festival of Life, Acrylic on canvas, 45x29 in, SOLD
Fawad is the son of well-known Urdu poet, Shaz Tamkanat. He did his Bachelor of Fine Arts and subsequently Master of Fine Arts programs at The Central University in Hyderabad, where he received the University Gold Medal.
Fawad's recent works are “the street culture series” where he is out on the streets of Hyderabad, clicking pictures, observing people and thus creating many stories. Additionally, women as a subject, form an important part of his works.
Fawad has also spent some time in Denmark in printmaking workshops with some distinguished Danish printmakers. His works retain a contemporary and global sensibility.
This painting is based on 'Holi', the festival to colors in India. The theme is very Indian, however the treatment is very contemporary reflecting the artists' sensibility. This painting is part of the new series he is working on.
