The beast threw me against the wall. As I struggled to get up, he moved slowly forward.
"The day has finally come," he said, "The day when I kill the Batman."
"You've tried and failed before, what makes you think this time is any different?"
"This time I have the advantage of extra muscle. Now, before I end you, do you have any last words?"
I was silent.
"Oh well," he said, "I guess you'd rather go out silently."
The monstrosity cackled wildly as he lifted his fist and prepared to give the final blow...
Just so you guys know, this is supposed to be a prequel spinoff to the Arkham Files. This is the closest that the volume will get to Arkham Files time until near the end. However, if the series is picked up, Batman will still make appearances in the Arkham Files (in flashbacks until I determine how I want this volume to end). This means that Batman's fate isn't set in stone, and it's entirely possible that he'll die at the end (but he might not).
