'Passing by the Remnant Kings in the Irwell Valley, Rossendale

Hughes-Fowler 2-6-0 13065 'Crab' eases towards Irwell Vale halt passing by the 'Remnant Kings' sculptures hauling her first train of the day to Rawtenstall in warm sunshine..

Remnant Kings: The large timber sections are made from local ash timber and are cradled in a steel cog. This structure suggests movement, throwing the timber forward and releasing the stones within its folds, like seeds bringing new growth. "Remnant Kings stands proud on the hillside watching over its kingdom waiting for its chance to scatter".
