Virginian Tiger Moth
I posted a closed wing version of this a couple days ago as a Virginian even though iNaturalist concluded that it was a much rarer species. However, the next day I saw that it was hiding on the side of the house and caught it to solidify the identification. An examination of the underside and this view with wings open prove that it is a Virginian.
It is a very pretty small moth.
