Great Horned Owls

We are used to seeing pictures like this of owlets but one does not normally see adults huddled together in contact. These two parents are in one of the spots between buildings where they went to escape chronic crow mobbings at and near their nest site. A few crows would buzz them in this spot but most would remain on utility wires above using verbal intimidation alone.

 

Their owlets would be elsewhere and unbothered by the crows.
