2017 Clothesline Project

by Memorial Union Gallery

The Clothesline Project explores the personal experiences of individuals affected by sexual assault and violence in local communities. The Clothesline Project is a global event with approximately 500 projects located around the world. The exhibition uses t-shirts as a medium of expression for students, faculty, staff and members of the Fargo-Moorhead community who have been impacted by sexual assault or violence. In addition to the t-shirts on display, supplies are available for visitors to create and add a t-shirt to the project. This year, the Clothesline Project also includes a video installation examining confession and secrets. The NDSU project is a collaboration between the MU Gallery, NDSU Sexual Assault Prevention and Advocacy, NDSU Violence Prevention Educators, and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center.
