Happy 50th Anniversary ... a Little Late

We celebrated my parents' 50th wedding anniversary in 2006. We had a family celebration that lasted all weekend long, and we had a lot of fun. We took a road trip, enjoyed great food, ate white chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, had special gold and white M&Ms printed up for the occasion and just enjoyed being with each other.

However, we had a hard time coming up with a gift ... you know ... something special that they didn't have and would really enjoy. Finding the perfect present eluded us ... for two and a half years! Yes, you heard that right.

We finally decided on a digital photo frame. We purchased it, wrapped it up and delivered it last night. It ended up being a great choice. We celebrated a little more, ate a great homemade dessert that Mother made and started the photo uploading process.

So far we have managed to import one photo into their new frame. That seemingly simple task ended up being a little more complicated that we had anticipated because most of the photos displayed as a white question mark on a black background. The problem apparently has something to do with how they were saved in Adobe Photoshop.

So, the anniversary continues. And that's a good thing. It will give us another chance to get together and celebrate. Since there aren't any rules about when you're supposed to stop celebrating an anniversary, this could go on for a long time.

The card we got matches the event perfectly. On the outside it says, "To be continued ...". On the inside it says, "... forever. Happy Anniversary!"

Now I've just got to figure out how to get those photos in a format where they'll display properly in the frame. They're going to get tired of looking at that one picture of the snowman puzzle pretty fast!

FYI: The paper on the gift came from The Container Store (It's actually Christmas giftwrap, but the Christmas part is so subtle that you'd never know that if I hadn't just told you). I bought the patterned double-sided satin ribbon at Michael's.
