Project: Cambridgeshire

Peterborough Cathedral.

The 'New' Building, or Eastern Building - added between 1496 and 1509, its superb fan vaulting was probably the work of John Wastell who built King's College Chapel, Cambridge.

"John Wastell, the last and perhaps most brilliant master mason who worked on King's, took charge in 1508. He is the architect of the beautiful fan vaulting – 'the noblest stone ceiling in existence' – which was built in just three years between 1512 and 1515." King's College Chapel, Cambridge.
