These clouds are probably altocumulus stratiformis (Ac str), of two different species:-
altocumulus (Ac):
Below - who knocked over the jar of cotton wool balls?
A compound of the Latin words'altum, meaning 'height' and 'cumulus' ('heap' or 'pile') altocumulus are medium-level clouds [20,000 - 25,000 ft], occurring as individual rounded masses, often with clear sky visible between them.
stratiformis (str)
- a compound of the Latin words stratus ('layer') and forma ('form' or 'appearance'), stratiformis clouds extend horizontally in a wide sheet or layer.
