The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul was built in 1733-9 by the Bastard brothers.
In green stone with Portland facings. It was designed to have a spire but finished with a cupola. The chancel was successfully lengthened in 1896 by moving the apsidal end further east. Its elegant interior, vaulted in columns with Ionic heads, is marred only by wooden galleries added down each side in 1836 that cut through the middle f the windows. More apt are the 18th-century box pews and a gallery on wooden piers built above the west door, originally to house the organ.
Dorset - A Shell Guide by Michael Pitt-Rivers (1966)
About the Tower:
Bells - Eight : Tenor Weight 19-3-5
Access: The staircase to the ringing room is reached by an outside door.
