Falling Leaves

"I've read about falling leaves in fifty thousand poems and so on...

but, seeing the leaves fall always moves me...

especially those falling on the boulevards

and if they are chestnut leaves

especially if a child passes by and if it is sunny

especially if I have received good news from a friend

especially if my heart doesn't ache that day

especially if I believe that my love loves me

especially if on such a day I feel in agreement with others and with myself

I'm touched by falling leaves"
