Sometimes you need to go back to go forward
I aimed to create an image which demonstrated a start point and an endpoint. During a lunch break I sketched out an elemental composition that utilised the rule of thirds (where the pencils intersected).
Originally the photo was going to be a 4x3 portrait, but this changed to a square ratio in post as it looked more balanced. I’ve kept the scene stark as I wanted the image to have a plain minimal look.
To keep the two pencils upright and level I used Litebee flexible helping hands. This tool proved invaluable during this setup.
