Insects Awaken

The third solar term falls around 5 March when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 345 degrees. The weather starts to get warmer and thunder of spring awakens the insects.

 

There is a custom of eating pears on the day of Insects Awaken. Maintain a light diet by eating food rich in plant-based protein and fresh vegetables, such as bamboo shoots, spinach, Chinese celery, chicken, egg, milk, aloe, summer radish, bitter gourd, Malabar spinach, rapeseed, Chinese yam, lotus seed and white fungus. In spring, when nature invigorates, it is better to sleep and wake up early. A leisurely walk can keep you healthy and your spirits up.
