I'm feeling proud and honoured to receive an email today that one of my images has again been selected for PSNZ's flagship publication, 'New Zealand Camera 2021'. This is one of my personal favourites - I use Adobe Lightroom's star-rating system, and this is one of only 7 images I've ever made that I feel is worthy of all five stars. Often I find that the ones I really like aren't as popular with other people, so it's always nice when someone else likes it too :)
This image was made in one of those serendipitous moments, when you just happen to be in the right place at the right time. And, like one of my other favourites, it required hanging on to the tripod amidst a howling gale, trying to get the frames off quickly enough for the panorama that the clouds (and camera) didn't blow away. And again, like a couple of my other favourites, the post-processing could be left to a bare minimum, revelling in just how incredible the light was and enjoying the moment with only three other people on the peak with me.
