Flying colours
Whenever I buy a new (old) lens, I like to try it out on some familiar subjects, to see how sharp it is, bokeh, flares (does it need a deeper hood), contrasts/colours (how much pp will be needed) etc.
And fence/railings bokeh taken in bright sun-light is a good test. It may get a little repetitive for some, but it's more interesting than bricks.
Here's the result for my new 57 year old Auto-Takumar 55/1.8. It has passed with flying colours! HFF!
