Konica C35 MFD
Konica C35 MFD with 2.8/38 Hexanon.
Like the C35 MF, but with data back.
Introduced in 1982, I think it is the first compact camera by
Konica with built-in winder and the last one with the "C35" in its name.
The Hexanon has 4 elements in 3 groups.
Nearest focus distance: 1.1 m
Programmed shutter, shutter speeds 1/60, 1/125 and 1/250 s.
Film speed range: 25 .. 400 ASA
Flash with GN 14
Needs two AA 1.5 V batteries, the data back needs an extra battery which is hidden deeply in the back.
At first I thought, the M in MF is a hint for the motor drive, but MF stands for "Multi Function". The camera is clearly a forerunner of Konica's MT series, especially of the MT-11.
With repair story: obviously a previous user tried to turn the ring around the shutter button to the position REW without unlocking the ring with that orange R-button. The result was a broken mechanical connection to a second ring in the camera body which served as the real on/off-switch, because it carries the electrical contact which connects the according circuit paths. Unfortunately this contact was away. So I used an older, not so fine, C35 MF for a spare part, I exchanged the rings with the contact and the C35 MFD worked like new. Okay, besides the flash-ready indicator.
