Venice is the city of Carnival...... its history is interwoven with its spirit. Shops selling carnival masks abound. I was intrigued, as most are by the variety and beauty and scariness of the masks. One is specifically called Il Pesto, the Plague, one is Harlequin, and the ladies masks often contain scraps of music. elaborate feathers, handpainted designs....... more to follow:)
