GCPD Vol 1. Holes and Moles Chapter 2: The Target

The car door slams shut. Gordon turns the key and the engine starts up. He backs up out of the parking lot and presses on the gas pedal, heading towards City Hall. Gordon is almost there when he notices a strange car beside him. The driver is wearing a grey suit and is easily going over the speed limit. He looks at his watch, it reads 7:20. Gordon wants to pull over the strange car, but he has no time. Gordon cusses and keeps driving.
7:25 pm
Gordon locks his car and runs in City Hall. Mayor Hill is waiting for him.
Hill: “Where have you been, the crowd is getting bored.”
Gordon: “Commissioner Loeb handed me some extra papers and-”
Hill: “You know what, I don’t care. Let's get on with the award.”
7:30
Gordon and HIll go up to the platform in front of hundreds of people. Hill waves as Gordon analyzes the crowd; He sees no signs of threat or any danger. He also sees that the security officers are walking around the perimeter. Gordon sighs in relief.
Hill: “Thank you for coming today, before we continue on with the award I want to apologize for the late start....”
Gordon sits and relaxes in his seat. He thinks about how he should’ve pulled over that car earlier. Then he notices someone in the crowd. The man in the car, wearing the exact same grey suit. The man walks over to the door and bolts out of it. Gordon scans the crowd looking for any officer. He sees one of his; Officer Bilbao. Gordon pulls out his phone and opens up his messages.
Gordon: Hey Bilbao, there's a man in a grey suit that just bolted out of the door, can you see what he is up to?
Bilbao: Any reason why?
Gordon: He went over the speed limit
Bilbao: You want me to spy on a guy just because he broke the speed limit
Gordon: I suspect that this guy is up to no good.
Gordon: Just do as I say
Bilbao: Yes sure Lieutenant
Gordon sees Bilbao get out of his seat and walks out the door.

Officer Bilbao sees the man go to the bathroom. Bilbao walks in the bathroom; hands on his holster. Bilbao walks into the man talking on his cell phone. The man speaks with a German accent.
Man: “I know eliminate him at 7:45 so…”
The man sees Bilbao walk in.
Man: “I’ll call you back.”
Bilbao goes straight up to the man.
Bilbao: “Hello sir, Officer Bilbao of the GCPD, I would like to ask you you a few questions.”
Man: “In the Bathroom officer? Not really the most private and cleanest place to answer some questions-”
Bilbao: “I don’t care. What’s your name sir.”
Man: “Falsches Gesicht.”
Bilbao: “How do you spell that.”
The man punches Bilbao smack in the face. Bilbao grabs his gun out of his holster but the man immediately knocks the gun right out of it. The two men struggle and go in an all out brawl.
7:40
Hill: “Now it will be an honor to present the Gotham Award of Bravery to Lieutenant James Gordon for stopping The Riddler from blowing up half the city on his own. Let's hear it.
The audience applauds as Gordon stands up to receive the medal. Hill drapes it over his shoulders and he bows.
Hill: “Now I’ve known Gordon for a long time now, and…”
Hill continues on with his speech.

The man punches Balboa in the stomach and Balboa goes down. He then goes into the stall and pulls out a gun and a mask.
Man: “Now I would love to kill you but I’ll do this instead. Don’t worry it won’t hurt…”
7:44
The man walks out the door with the mask on and his gun ready.
Man: “Hey I’m in position.”
Unknown: “Good, what time is it?”
The man looks at his watch.
Man: “Right on time…”
He walks through the side doors and hides behind a pillar.

Hill: “After all that, Gordon is still a hero to me and the citizens of Gotham.”
The audience stands up and applaud to Gordon. He scans the crowd for Officer Balboa but instead sees The man in the grey suit, with a mask and a gun aiming towards the mayor. He fires his gun as Gordon runs and pushes Hill out of the way.
BAM
The gunshot startles everyone. Mayor Hill lays there...alive. Gordon gets up and pulls out his pistol and shoots the man in the leg, making him fumble onto the ground. Gordon holsters his gun and looks at the man’s mask. He then picks it up at looks at the tag, it reads Sionis Industries.
Gordon: “Their back.”
