LES NÉNUPHARS... the waterlilies.

#AbFav_FAVOURITE_PLACES_THINGS💖

A little winding road takes us to the Ostend-Brugge Canal, this canal flows partially in the historical bed of the Ieperlee .

In the period 1618 - 1623 this old sea-gully was deepened and from Plassendale connected to the sea.

From then on you could sail from Ostend via Brugge, to the interior of Ghent.

The blue sky colours the water blue, and right next to a bridge over the canal, a patch of Nénuphars.

Water lilies, specifically the European water lily (Nymphaea).

From Medieval Latin nenuphar, from Arabic nīnūfar.

Monet would have put up his easel there, me… I lifted my camera to my eye.

I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)
