THE STORY of THE WILD CHESTNUT...

Fresh conker from a horse chestnut tree.

A wild chestnut found under the tree, I recorded the ‘opening’, over almost 18 days.

It was fascinating.

Aesculus hippocastanum is a large tree, commonly known as horse-chestnut or conker tree.

The horse chestnut's fruit is colloquially called a "conker" and refers to the shiny brown, poisonous seed that is protected by a green spiny capsule.

THEN, AT LAST, the husk breaks open and the wild chestnut/conker is born, after 4 weeks… the wait is over, LOL

Have a wonderful day and thanks for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)
