Past Heraklion, the super drive along the sea, you turn off towards the mountains(still snow on them!), and meandering through lemon and orange groves, we arrive in the village of Fodele.
I wanted to go there, because it is the birthplace of EL GRECO.
A small museum was built exhibiting some of his, I suspect earlier, work.
Unfortunately, they had closed early.
However, in this village, the specialty of the ladies is Macramé, they sit in the street, with their 2 chairs, knotting all day long.
This is Barbara, she specially took her tools out again for the photo, because she'd been on her way home.
When Barbara realised the 'photoshoot' had come to an end, she showed me some finished bags.
Now, I'm a photographer and prefer pockets, but she had been so kind I really couldn't resist, what a businesswoman!
So, I bought one, paid, she went inside for change.
As she came out she was holding out those two beautiful oranges, fresh off the tree...
A series of 4 images, why not have a look?
Have a great day and thank you, M, (*_*)
