COMFORT AND JOY...

#AbFav_PHOTOSTORY
A huge Victorian house, surrounded by gardens, an orchard, a vegetable plot, home to my dear friend, Mr G., 80, a widower, his children and grandchildren not living very close, no pets to take care off, except his beloved plants and precious seedlings.
Plenty of winter evenings, with the wind howling around this house on a height, are spent browsing the catalogs, prices compared, letters written, ordering the different seeds for flowers and vegetables.
The windowsills in his kitchen, the heart of his home, catch the sun at some time in the day, so, from early on, that becomes the ‘nursery’, once hardy enough the plants are moved into the small veranda built onto the backdoor (the majestic front door and hall get rarely used these days).
Facing the South, needless to say , they thrive in there, now what happens, since it can be very windy and a couple of degrees cooler up the hills, he waits and waits to plant them out, by then they fill the veranda with colour, fragrance and beauty… he keeps them there, where he sits and reads his newspaper.
I hope your day is filled with beauty, thanx for your comments, Magda, (*_*)
