Fire and Ice, Cherry Parfait... the names of a Rose.
There is this plant in my garden, a Rose, and it was the beautiful month of May... first the leaves and what a joy to see more and more buds appearing.
Then, one day of very strong winds, a branch hung down, bud and all, not completely severed, still some connection with the mother-plant.
Enough to slowly keep it going.
I watched it day after day, holding my breath each time.
Other buds burst open in the sun, but not this bud.
Two weeks went by and the sepals were forever holding and protecting the Rose, until it was ready?
It took over three weeks in all before some colour showed, I was beginning to doubt it would ever make it.
What joy when it deployed its splendour.
It turned up, reaching for the light,
Full glory, yet I could tell that, although held close by the outer layer and hidden under leaves, it had been under attack, from weather and insects, it was imperfect, no matter!
Here is this fighting beauty for all to enjoy!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)
