THE SHORTEST STREET? GLORIBUSSTREET...

DAY 8

A lesser known part of Brugge. The old and the new, Although the laws of preservation are very strict, now and then something modern crops up, like the huge block that is the Concertgebouw here behind the street.

The Gloribusstraat is a small street in the Boeveriewijk of Bruges.

The street that runs between the Boeveriestraat and King Albert Avenue, got its name from Isabella Gloribus, the widow of Pieter Van Peenen.

She founded six almshouses for needy widows, there in 1634.

Residents of old Bruges origin continue to call the street Muzevol, Muzenhol (Mousetrap).

I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)
