089 OF FLANDERS and ANTIQUITIES..

DAY 6

We decide to have a drive through that part of Flanders, South and close to the border of North France. what a Plat pays, it does my eyes good to see it again.

As it is a hot and thirsty weather, we end up in a tiny village, Houtem. Turns out my friend knows the owner of ’t Klein Plezier (The small Pleasure), the village pub.

Quite a character, as is his establishment, full of antiquities.

I spot this gorgeous pulley lamp.

Before the simple flick of a switch, pulleys were used so the lamps could be lowered, lit, then raised up high again for general lighting.

I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)
