SHINY ARMOUR…

DAY 7

With pomp and circumstance the whole parade eventually disperses, but I see there is a reception in the beautiful Gothic Hall, in the town hall, for the top brass.

These come out early, once more synchronised in their dance?

They must be high up Pikemen, laced and medalled. So much finery!

The Pikemen & Musketeers are dressed and equipped as members of the Company would have been in the 1640s

Pikemen wear steel half-armour of back and breast plates with tassets and a morion (steel helmet).

The weight is about 18 lbs (8.16 KG). They are armed with swords and pikes.

The seniority of officers and non-commissioned officers is signified by the amount of lace worn on collars and cuffs; the more lace the more senior the rank.

I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)
