021 CORBELS EVERYWHERE…

DAY 3

 

It is a massive vaulted place the town Hall, so corbels everywhere you look.

The beauty once more in the details.

 

In architecture a corbel is a structural piece of stone, wood or metal jutting from a wall to carry a superincumbent weight, often very decorative.

These here in the Gothic Hall of the City Hall in Brugge, are likely to be Late Gothic corbels and all of which are different.
