LISIANTHUS, the BUDS

I love those beautiful buds, tight, before unfurling into splendour...

Originating in the West Indies, Mexico, and Central and South America, the Lisianthus is known botanically as Eustoma grandiflorum. The common name comes from the Greek words lysis, meaning 'dissolution' and anthos, meaning 'flower'. Colours include white, light and dark pink, lavender and deep purple. Double and single-flower varieties exist.

Many people do not know what it is, but everyone loves it!

Sometimes I just 'feeeeeeeeel' like this, a flower image in b&w...

I love the subtle tones, all the varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasized without the colour. Don't you agree?

Thanx, M, (*_*)
