0111 Romanesque architecture…

Tour of Europe 04 2016

Day 12

St Basil’s Chapel, the lower chapel of The Chapel of the Holy Blood

The chapel has little decorative elements but it is the only part of the building that still has its original shape.

It is one of the best preserved examples of Romanesque architecture in Bruges. The largest room has three naves, covered by a cross rib vault supported by sturdy pillars.

There is a definite mood in there, some quiet music even accentuates that. You do not have to be religious to experience this.

I wish you a day full of beauty and thank you for your visit, Magda, (*_*)
