FLANDERS’ LOCK…
#abfav_trees
ALL IMAGES ARE BEST seen On Black, yours too
Not all of Flanders is 'flat', towards the border of France, more inland, away from the sea, the land begins to wave and undulate into the Flemish Ardennes, another beautiful area...
One of the locks... going down.
The Willows are water absorbing trees and are therefore very useful to this land, the farmers regularly 'trim' them, so that they do not grow high, but sturdy, more wind resistant and even more absorbent, they get very gnarled heads over time. we call them 'knot-willows', they often serve as separation of farmer's land too.
May your day be sunny, thank you for visiting, Magda (*_*)
