Lavender blue Scabiosa,beautifully frilled, a genus in the honeysuckle family (Caprifoliaceae).

Another common name for members of this genus is pincushion flowers.

Scabious flowers are nectar rich and attractive to many insects, including butterflies and moths such as the Six-spot Burnet.
