Dance for Two, Adelaide _0194_2

The Galah, Eolophus roseicapillus, is also known as the Rose-breasted Cockatoo or Galah Cockatoo. Part of a small group at the Municiple golf course, North Adelaide, South Australia.

Galahs have a bit of a reputation for being comical. To call someone a 'silly galah' in Australia means you think they are a total fool. They are also great talkers. I can remember seeing a pet galah called Charlie doing a very good impersonation of my grandmother calling her cats for supper with Charlie waddling along saying "Here puss puss puss," and four half grown kittens excitedly following him. Not sure how that turned out.
