Mock neck gasket
I made some 2" wide mock neck gaskets to get a feel for how snug I wanted to make the neck gasket. My neck measures 15 1/2" and I found that a gasket made 3 1/2" smaller was tight enough to seal and be comfortable. A 15 1/2" string is used in making the pattern template. Making the mock gaskets gave me a chance to get a feel for working with the contact cement and the heat tape also.
