Seeing Eye to Eye
Imagine my surprise to find this charming little critter in my garden yesterday morning - the few hedgehogs I have seen here have been flattened on the road. I dashed into the house for the camera still with a macro lens attached. I was even more surprised to find how closely I could approach - this was shot about two feet away, sitting on very wet grass to get a low angle. The hedgehog was quite relaxed, not bothered by my presence. After putting up with the photoshoot for several minutes, it turned and went back to the border under a hydrangea bush.
