Licence to Crawl
The name's Bond...
For Macro Mondays theme 'Holes'.
My closed vegetable steamer was set-up on its side, and a light placed behind it a few inches away. I cut off the bottom of a white plastic yoghurt pot and positioned it inside the steamer - this would diffuse the light and provide a surface for the snail to crawl on. The biggest difficulty was getting the snail onto the plastic - when carefully holding the tiny snail with my thumb and forefinger, I couldn't get the snail through the 2.5cm hole. I tried using just my finger, but the snail just crawled on it and wouldn't let go. I eventually used a small stick so the snail would crawl to the end, then go onto the plastic, and this finally worked.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
