For Macro Mondays theme 'Safety'.
The bottle was set up to take advantage of the dappled sunshine through my conservatory window to backlight the snails to show off the translucence of their tiny bodies and shells. I initially tried using just one snail, but last week's efforts with two worked quite well (and makes a better 'story'), although it just isn't possible to get both snails in complete focus. I placed the two snails on the lid in a few different positions before deciding on this. This photoshoot was rather fiddly and took longer than usual, so both snails were well-rewarded with their favourite red lettuce.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
