Taken With a Few Grains of Salt
Once again, a family heirloom comes to the rescue for Macro Mondays. Thinking it would be nice if I had a really tiny spoon for the theme 'A Spoonful', I remembered I had (somewhere in the attic) this antique sterling silver salt spoon that had belonged to my grandmother.
The image was shot as a focus stack at f4 only on the bowl of the spoon containing the salt crystals, keeping the stem of the spoon projecting back in a softer focus. At f4, the grains of salt scattered in the background provided the bokeh.
No spoons were harmed in the making of this photograph.
