Soldiering On

Is it my imagination, or is she looking a little bored?

 

A pair of common red soldier beetles, Rhagonycha fulva, doing what comes naturally. These beetles frequent plants like cow parsley and hogweed, and apparently have the nickname 'hogweed bonking beetle' - there were certainly numerous other couples similarly engaged.
