I made this backpack as a christmas present for my boyfriend.
The fabric is a thick cotton canvas (maybe a bit too heavy) usually used for deckchair, it's water repellent.
I customized a bit my cooper backpack :
1 - The straps are made of the main fabric AND cotton webbing, it allows me to put a snap hook on the straps to attach a tag or anything else. I made the straps a bit wider, I find wider straps more confortable.
2 - I managed a clip on one of the front pocket to access really easily to the keys. Because from experience I know how ennoying it is to have to empty your whole backpack in front of your home to finally find the keys in the bottom corner of it.
3 - I made another larger pocket inside the backpack to carry a laptop. This pocket fabric is quite thick and really really soft.
4 - I didn't sew the 2 straps on the flap then I can tuck between the straps and the flap a scarf, a jacket, an umbrella, a wet towel on the way back from the beach, etc…
It's the first backpack I have ever made and it really makes me want to make more in the future, and to adjust this cooper pattern to what I need. Thanks!!
