We arrived in Uruguay just in time for mid autumn and early winter weather. By now, our time schedule is very far from our original outline and experiencing the Southern Hemisphere for the 1st time takes a little thought and adjusting. Our weather reminded us a bit of September in Portland. Leaves changing, sunny and pleasant days, cool nights and passing showers to keep a person thinking in layers and never being far from a light jacket.
These classic 'pancho' stands and chiviterias are peppered throughout the city and part of everyday life for many. I love the look of the vintage polished aluminum stands like these and at night they are almost like a lonely space pod awaiting a new destination.
