Postmodern Communications

Thanks for looking at my photo. I took it because I hoped it would work as an interesting visual image. However, for those who would like an explanation of the title, then, here is what I had in mind (and I chose the words "had in mind" specifically). The crossed lines serve as a metaphor. Like many, I am concerned about the art of communication or really the difficulties of communication in a Postmodern context. This is part of a cell tower and it is designed to better able the transmission of thoughts, ideas, and intentions of people across wide physical distances: What one would hope to be the blessings of modern science and technology. The difficulties with any kind of communication, however, are in the methods of interpreting (or misinterpreting) what seems simple and immediate in communicating thoughts, ideas, and intentions; hence, on this level we are postmodern. Nothing is "simple." Some of the difficulties come in the form of sexual struggles (Freudian), class identity (Marxist), or Power/Authority (Foucault). Art (in this case, photography), is subject even more so to these same difficulties. The photo and title was a way of raising the thoughts I had on communication in a visual image.
