Hi everyone.

I guess it’s easy to see where I took inspiration from to make this card... yeap, RIC… and quite literally. When I saw that fantastic dress, a mix of trends, styles and influences, I knew I had to play with my gelli plate, and so I did. Love that stuff, and there is so much more to experiment…

1 - Started by stamping the flowers on a piece of paper, where I planned them to be on the final card. Positioned that piece of paper under the plate and masked the flowers on the gelli plate. Added the acrylic paints in the colors I wanted, and then removed the masks. Put a piece of white cardstock over the painted area and printed using a brayer. Please note that you will end up with a mirror image, which means that you’ll want to put colors on the plate in reverse order when you have a scheme to follow.

2 - Stamped the flowers on the printed cardstock, in the previously masked areas, and painted with a brush and white Distress paint. Let dry. In some flowers I used lighter tones of the final layer on top of the white coat, let dry again, and then added the final layer of color(s), scratching with the back of the brush to create visual interest and depth.

3 - I added the die cut sentiment in black, and called it finished. Love the vibrant opaque colors and expression in the dress, and in this card.

Stamps: SSS - Favorite Flowers, Summer Garden; TCM - Beautiful Spring.

Dies: SSS - Big Hugs.

Coloring: Distress Paint - spun sugar, picket fence, wild honey, salty ocean, mowed lawn; Marabu, Folk Art, Acrilex and Daler-Rowney acrylic paints.

Others: Neenah Solar white cardstock and black cardstock; homemade gelli plate.
