Common Kingfisher (Alcedo aththis). Subspecies A.c. taprobana is a resident of Sri Lanka. Wide spread from lowlands to mid hills. Frequents closer to water bodies. Belongs to Alcedinidae family.

මල් පිළිහුඩුවා උප විශේෂය A.c. taprobana ලංකාවේ දැකිය හැකි පක්ෂියකු වන අතර පහත රට සිට කඳුකරයේ මැද දක්වා විසිර ඇත. ජලාශ අසල ගැවසේ
