20120620_Chile_3078+331+334+260+261 La Huayca

In the village of La Huayca, the only dining option is Restaurant “El Huaso Chalo” (the guy in the cowboy hat on the sign) which serves unsophisticated comfort food to the locals, apparently just at lunch as we are the only dinner customers. The first night our fixed menu is a salad with mayonnaise and a chewy piece of beef with rice. The second night is chicken soup and chicken with mashed potatoes—our special request that the cook found unusual as this area of Chile always eats rice. Around US$7 the first night and US$9 the second (when we also got wine along with bottled water) including 10% tip. [US$1=CH$500]
